At Edward B. Coffey, DDS MS – Encinitas Dental Art, you can count on being greeted with a smile each and every time you come to our office. Our staff takes pride in creating a warm and friendly environment for our patients, and we believe in treating our patients like family. We strive to ensure that your visit is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Dr. Coffey feels very lucky to have a trusted team of employees who care so much about patient satisfaction. Each member of his dental team practices a high level of quality service towards all patients. They perform their skills with respect, efficiency, and patient education in mind, and have genuine concern for the total health of all who enter into the office for care.

We encourage our patients to ask questions, express their concerns, and discuss all aspects of their treatment with us. At Edward B. Coffey, DDS MS – Encinitas Dental Art, our patients’ care is a team effort, and we want you to feel informed and confident in the care you receive from us. We look forward to meeting you!

Our staff consists of three Registered Dental Assistants, three Registered Dental Hygienists, and two receptionists. You can rest assured that you are in good hands in our office. In fact, the average length of time our staff has worked at Edward B. Coffey, DDS MS – Encinitas Dental Art is 19 years. Each member of our staff has been with us for at least 4 years and as many as 32 years. We believe that the longevity of our employees is a testament to the high quality of care we provide.


Denise, Registered Dental Hygienist

Denise_Hygienist_Edward_B_Coffey_DDS_MS_Encinitas_Dental_ArtDenise graduated from the University of New Mexico, where she received both her A.S. (Associate of Science) and B.S. (Bachelor of Science) in Dental Hygiene. She has been working at our office since 1988. Denise received her Masters Degree in Public Health from San Diego State University in 2010 and has published several articles in professional  journals. Denise lives locally with her husband and has three grown children.

As for patient care, Denise takes great pride in developing lasting relationships with her patients. The patients feel very comfortable and look forward to seeing her in the office. Denise refuses to lecture her patients, but rather address each patient based on his or her unique dental needs. She looks forward to providing you with the highest standard of care.


Petra, Registered Dental Hygienist

After graduating high school, she moved to Germany and worked there for two and a half years. Then, Petra moved to California and decided to return to school to obtain a degree that would offer job stability and allow her to take care of her family. Petra attended Southwestern College, where she received her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2005 and has been working at our office since then. Petra lives locally and has two daughters. Most of her free time is spent with her horses at the barn or running outdoors.

Petra enjoys her profession as a hygienist, educating her patients on how to take care of their teeth as well as the chance to get to know patients and their families on a more personal level. Her gentle nature and delightful British accent will have you comfortably relaxed while she attends to your preventative care needs.


Anna, Registered Dental Hygienist

Anna_Hygienist_Edward_B_Coffey_DDS_MS_Encinitas_Dental_ArtAnna is a California native, who knew in high school that she wanted to be a dental hygienist. She obtained her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of New Mexico in 1981. She has been helping patients at our office have beautiful, healthy smiles since 1991. Anna and her husband live locally with their two sons. In her spare time, Anna enjoys spending time with her family; they enjoy the outdoors, including camping and fishing.

Anna looks forward to seeing and visiting with each and every patient, helping them keep their teeth and gums healthy with regular oral hygiene treatments and education about oral health care. She believes that a caring attitude is what matters most, and she takes the time to communicate with patients about their needs and concerns.
